About Massage Therapy
Massage is an effective treatment for relaxation as well as mental and physical health. Treatment is focused on preventative and rehabilitation care we well as management of chronic and repetitive conditions. Whether all you need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, therapeutic massage enhances your overall sense of emotional and physical well being.
Hot Stone Massage
Benefits of Hot Stone Massage:
  • The heat from the stones helps the therapist to work on deep tissue.
  • Relieves chronic pain, expands, blood vessels and helps circulation through the body.

Massage not only relieves pain and soreness, it helps reduce stress and anxiety.  It can increase the production of oxytocin which improves mood.
Deep tissue massage helps realign deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.  It is very beneficial for chronic aches and pains
and contracted muscles.

General Tips for getting the most from any massage therapy:
  • Don’t eat a heavy meal before or after your massage therapy.  Have a light meal an hour or two prior to the appointment.  A light meal an hour or so after the therapy.
  • Drink water before and after the therapy. Drink LOTS of water after the therapy to help flush the toxins and rehydrate your body.
  • Have a warm (not hot) bath with Epsom salt or a warm shower.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have as what to or not to do after your massage therapy.  Marianne can also advice on stretches that might help with muscles in areas you generally feel stress.
